Monali Thakur is an Indian Singer and Actress born on 3 November, 1985 in West Bengal. She belongs to a musical family. Her father Shakti Thakur and sister Mehuli Thakur are also the singers in Bengali music industry. Monali Thakur is a trained singer and dancer. She has learned Hindustani Classical Music from Pandit Jagdish Prasad and Pandit Ajoy Chakraborty. Apart from being a trained singer she is also a trained Hip-Hop, Bharatanatyam and salsa dancer. She received her first award at the age of 14 as playback singer for the serial called “Sri RamKrishna”. She participated in a poplular singing reality show Indion Idol and stood 9 in the show.
