Mother Love Bone was formed in 1988 and did not last long thereafter. The band demise came after the lead vocalist death after a drug overdose. However, the band did produce some epic tunes and did great live shows. Crown of Thorns is one such song.

Crown of Thorns is the flawless blend of Wood’s vocal abilities and guitar skills of guitarist Stone Gossard. The band member separated and moved on to join other bands.

Riot grrrl is an underground feminist punk group from Olympia, Washington state formed in 1990. Riot grrrl bands discussed women’s issues like rape, domestic abuse, female empowerment, and the patriarchy in their music, and dedicated time to organizing women to encourage their participation in rock and roll music.
